After much discussion and an evaluation of our priorities for the next several months, the Council voted on Friday, February 17th, to cancel the 2023 Safety & Resilience Conference. We know the conference provides a valuable statewide learning opportunity and many will be disappointed at this news; the decision was not made lightly. Our chief priorities must be tasks that relate to federal grant compliance requirements and/or our statutory duties. There are some significant priority projects over the next few months that will fully consume our staff resources.
